Minor Surgery
The doctors, assisted by the practice nurse, carry out minor surgical procedures under local anaesthetic each Wednesday 3.00-4.00pm. Liquid nitrogen clinics for warts and verrucae are held monthly.
Travel Health/Advice
We offer travel health advice and vaccinations for travel overseas. It is advisable to enquire at least eight weeks before your journey so that any necessary course of vaccination can be completed in good time. Travel forms are available at reception.
Immunisation
The doctors recommend the full programme of vaccination for children. Annual flu vaccines and a single pneumococcal vaccination are recommended for all patients over 65 and those with chest complaints.
Cervical Cytology
Smears are performed by the practice nurse. All female patients aged 25 to 65 are encouraged to be checked regularly. This also presents an opportunity to discuss with the nurse any health worries or problems.
Health Promotion
We offer all new patients a short medical examination upon registering with the practice. This includes various health checks eg blood pressure, urine, weight and diet advice. Health checks are also available annually for patients over the age of 75 and once every three years for patients over 16.
